Originally designed in the ‘80s as a court-focussed trainer, the Nike Air Force 1’s clean design and comfortable footing was quickly adopted by streetwear culture. As the first trainer to receive Nike Air technology, designer Bruce Gilgore took cues from hiking boots to create a chunky sole that responded to the pace and transitions of the hardwood. Initially available in the famed white and grey palette, bold colourways, City Series, and a landmark Low-Profile would soon follow.
