In the year of 1985, Nike released their first ever signature model for Michael Jordan, however, it didn’t all go according to plan. Designed by Peter Moore, the initial colourway – black/red popularized as ‘Bred’ or ‘Banned’, violated the NBA rules and regulations of uniform policies which in turn fined MJ and Nike $5000 every time they hit the hardwood.

In recent years, the Air Jordan 1 silhouette has been ranked as one of the most popular models within the Jumpman catalogue. A sleek and simple design, the AJ1 has seen its time from being footwear for practicality to an icon on the street. As times change for fashion trends, the Air Jordan 1 remains timeless.

On the fall of 1985, Nike released a black and grey colourway - dubbed as ‘Shadow’ due to its dark hues, this silhouette contains the same colour blocking as the initial Bred and Royal releases before it.

Last released in 2013, the Air Jordan 1 High Shadow is set for a return once again 5 years on. This iteration of the OG classic is dressed in primarily black tumbled leather with medium grey accents on the Swoosh, toe, ankle and heel area as well as the Nike Air branding on the tongue. This is sat on top of a white midsole and black outsole to complete a clean look.
